Learning to play the piano can be lots of fun and very rewarding but it takes practice, persistence and the proper instruction.  Private lessons can cost a small fortune and aren't always successful.  Fortunately there are some terrific online offerings available for learning to play the piano - even if you've never played before.  We've sorted through dozens of them and picked out several of the best that you can download and begin using immediately.

Bottom Line
Each of the offerings presented here can be used from your PC immediately - no waiting to get started.  We tried all four along with many others and found Rocket Piano by far the most comprehensive, fun and easy to use.  If you want to learn chords, Chord Chart Magic is a great option, while Piano is Fun is the best choice we have found for children.  Mr. Ron's Music takes a vocabulary-based approach and is worth a look for true beginners. 

Considerations
The Internet and your PC are great media for learning to play piano in the privacy of your home.  You should consider how you like to learn - most people benefit from a combination of written, audio and video media.  Some others work well with solely written material.  Whatever you decide, each of the sites presented has something to offer.  To your success!
